Mice Control – Commercial Bakery in Prince Albert, SK
A local bakery in Prince Albert noticed droppings near the dry storage room and around electrical panels. With health inspections coming up, the owner knew he had to act fast. He contacted Pestronix for emergency rodent control, concerned about contamination and structural damage.
Inspection & Assessment:
Our technician arrived the same day and performed a detailed audit. Entry points were discovered behind baseboard heaters, in wall gaps near the delivery dock, and beneath the baking equipment. Chew marks on food packaging and electrical wires confirmed active house mouse infestation.
Using UV tracking dust, we mapped their movement patterns, confirming nighttime foraging routes. Gnawed insulation and nesting material under a large prep table suggested breeding had already begun.
Treatment Strategy:
We started by installing tamper-proof bait stations along high-traffic areas, wall edges, and near the dock entrance. Snap traps were also placed inside locked utility closets for quick results. To limit attractants, we recommended the bakery store dry ingredients in sealed plastic bins and clean behind ovens daily.
We sealed entry points with copper mesh and steel wool rodent-proof materials that can’t be chewed through. The owner was instructed to monitor bait stations daily and log any captures for our review.
Outcome & Ongoing Prevention:
Over the next five days, trap activity decreased significantly. By day seven, no new droppings or signs of nesting were found. We returned for a follow-up inspection and reinforced any weak structural areas with rodent-proof barriers.
The bakery passed its health inspection without issue and now uses our commercial pest monitoring service to stay compliant and pest-free year-round.
Client Testimonial:
“Pestronix literally saved my business. We were at risk of fines, but they responded fast and completely solved the mouse problem. Their follow-up system is gold.”
